THIS week’s Local Footy Sunday Spotlight examines Melton’s anger at a key injury in a Ballarat Football League boilover, Hampton Park’s breakthrough South East Football Netball League success, a host of Eastern Football League coaching changes and more.
EFL: Trio announce coaching changes
Three Eastern Football League clubs have announced their coaches won’t be continuing beyond the end of 2015. Mulgrave’s Ryan James and North Ringwood’s Brett Moyle will hold the reins until season’s end before stepping down, while Blackburn’s Peter Banfield has been replaced by Kyle Matthews. Banfield was set to continue until the end of the campaign, but was replaced after speaking out against the decision. Waverley Blues have bucked the trend, reappointing Ben Carboni.

BFL: Melton furious at alleged Notman knock
Melton will ask the Ballarat Football League to look into an incident which forced star playmaker Mathew Notman from the field in the opening minutes of its loss to Sebastopol on Saturday with concussion. Bloods coach Brad Murphy told Local Footy the club would ask for a league investigation into the incident, which left them one player down throughout the match. Sebastopol secured victory in a boilover, scoring its first win since 2012.
SEFNL: Hampton Park on the board
Hampton Park produced its best quarter of 2015 to steamroll Roc and record its first win over the South East Football Netball League campaign. Trailing by 11 points at three-quarter-time, the Redbacks booted seven unanswered goals in a final-quarter flurry to get up by 31 points, 13.9 (87) to 8.8 (56). Nathan Carver was electric up forward for the victors with six goals, while Nathan Allen was best afield.
VAFA: Collins cracks the ton
It was more a matter of when, rather than if Westbourne Grammarians gun Dale Collins would reach the 100-goal milestone. Collins achieved that feat in Victorian Amateur Football Association Division 4 on Saturday, slotting five goals in the Warriors’ 27.22 (184) to 4.8 (32) win over Masala. The haul took his season tally to 102 goals from 14 games at an average of about seven per match. We can’t remember too many players in the No. 77 jumper who have been as dominant in recent years.
There's his 100!!! Well done Dale Collins. #warriors15 #collowatch @VAFA_HQ pic.twitter.com/dxfCAMxUpS

EDFL: Keilor runs rampant
Who said stoppages were killing free-flowing footy? That certainly was not the case at Charles Mutton Reserve over the weekend as Keilor slammed on an eye-catching 17.5 (107) in the third quarter of its 232-point victory over Northern Saints. The Blues had 16 goalkickers in the victory, with Josh Linton and Ryan Bathie combining for 15 snags. For those playing along at home, the third quarter scoring rate was about a shot on goal every 90 seconds.
MPFNL: Van Unen slots 11 in Mt Eliza’s win
Mt Eliza’s Justin Van Unen is on track to join Dale Collins in the exclusive 100-goal club. The spearhead took his season tally to 83 majors in the Redlegs’ 113-point victory over Chelsea on Saturday. Van Unen snagged 11.9, his fourth double-figure bag of the campaign. Mt Eliza coach John Georgiou declared the performance Van Unen’s best of the season. If he reaches the ton, Van Unen will become the first player since he achieved the mark in 2012 to slot 100 goals on the peninsula.
