RESIDENTS are being asked to tap into what they love about the Moonee Ponds Creek as part of a council bid to reinvigorate the popular waterway.
Moonee Valley Council needs help to create a master plan and connect it via bike trails, paths and parklands.
“We want people thinking about the potential of the Moonee Ponds Creek for the future and how we can create a positive change in the creek valley,” Mayor Andrea Surace said.
“Certain parts of Moonee Ponds Creek have been neglected in the past and I am committed to seeing the creek gain a new lease of life.
“It is also important that we look after the biodiversity and habitat of the creek so that birdlife and vegetation can thrive, becoming a legacy for future generations to enjoy.”
The council is investigating improvements for the creek such as renewed vegetation, more seating, better pedestrian and bicycle paths.
An Apple iPad Mini will be given to the entry that best captures the Moonee Ponds Creek’s past or future before March 24.
