Police investigating suspicious fire in St Albans home
Police are investigating after a fire was allegedly lit in a house in Melbourne’s northwest that had allegedly been used by squatters.

The cause of fire that broke out in a vacant St Albans home on Tuesday morning is being treated as suspicious with reports of squatters using the property.
Fire Rescue Victoria, along with Victoria Police were called to the Walmer Ave house at 3am.
A search of the house was conducted following reports that it was inhabited by squatters.
Luckily, no one was inside at the time of the fire.
The fire was mostly contained to a front bedroom and was under control by 3.35am.
Police have established a crime scene while they investigate the cause of the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.
