Peppertree Place programs up and running in Coburg nursery
The bright sunshine and wet dirt is helping people with a disability find an outlet at this much-loved Coburg garden. And the gates are open for more people to join in the fun.

Green-thumbed people with a disability are learning new skills in the reopened Peppertree Place.
The Coburg nursery is up and running under the ownership of Kevin Heinze Grow. Participants horticultural therapy programs learn gardening and work skills while enjoying the sunshine of the inviting green space.
Peppertree manager Samantha Dunn said the chance to get into the dirt was well received.
“People here have a purpose, there’s a service of the community and you get to build friendships with people,” she said.
Sebastian Gionfriddo takes part in the program and said he enjoyed being outside and caring for the nursery plants.
Peppertree is planning to reopen the cafe on site to pair with the nursery and start hospitality programs at the venue.

“We’re very much making a call out and looking for more participants,” Ms Dunn said.
Participants can join Peppertree through the National Insurance Disability Scheme.
