A savage teen menace linked to notorious street gang OneFour and his violent thug mate bashed a western suburbs dad senseless in front of his helpless son.
Mahuta Phiere and Rihari Campbell savagely bashed the dad at a bus stop in Melbourne’s west on November 22 last year.
The “highly intoxicated” thugs randomly chose their victims for the “unprovoked” attack after the man and his 14-year-old son hopped off a bus, a court heard.
Phiere and Campbell targeted the boy then launched into his dad, kicking and punching him to the ground.
The court heard the father – who was rushed to hospital with severe facial fractures – was just trying to protect his son.
However, Phiere and Campbell’s violent escapade didn’t end there.
The brutes were involved in a brawl where several people – including a young female victim – were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Both savages were on bail during their night of violence.
Phiere, 18, and Campbell were sentenced at the Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on March 3 to a minimum 9 months’ jail after both pleaded guilty to numerous charges including intentionally cause injury.
The court heard Phiere – who claims to be a member of violent Sydney street gang OneFour – blamed alcohol for his violent offending.
A youth justice report found he was “unsuitable” for youth justice detention.
Magistrate Urfa Masood considered Phiere’s prospects of rehabilitation as “guarded” and that was only because of his age.
“(It was an) unprovoked attack,” Magistrate Masood said.
“This sort of offending is unacceptable.”
Campbell was also found unsuitable for youth justice detention.
He also blamed alcohol for his violent offending.

Magistrate Masood said Campbell had “some prospects” of rehabilitation but violent priors was “more relevant than Phiere’s criminal history.
“People are entitled to travel safe in the community,” Magistrate Masood said.
Phiere and Campbell – who also pleaded guilty to affray – were jailed for a maximum 15 months.
