Northern Melbourne’s top 50 most liveable places have been revealed and there are some surprises on the list.

The list, compiled by PRD Real Estate exclusively for the Herald Sun, ranks liveability based on access to public transport, shops, healthcare, education and green spaced, as well as planned commercial and government projects.

Inner city suburbs in Melbourne’s north have topped the list but there are some further out that also make the top 50.
