A wannabe music producer was busted with a stack of cocaine, MDMA and cash at his Box Hill high-rise hotel room.
Jackie Chan, 28, was sentenced at the County Court on March 26 to a minimum three years and eight months’ jail after pleading guilty to drug trafficking.
Chan was arrested after police raided his The Chen Hotel room early on April 11 last year.
Investigators seized multiple zip-lock bags which contained 429gm of cocaine and 383gm of MDMA from his room, and in “hidden compartments” inside his car.
Police also seized $158,000 cash – including a $1000 Crown Casino betting chip – and a Louis Vuitton bag worth almost $2000.
A bottle of clonazepam, kitchen scales and three mobile phones were also seized.
Chan was taken to Box Hill police station where he gave a “mainly no comment” interview.
The court heard Chan had stayed at the hotel since at least April 2 but his reservation history began on March 27.
In 2017, Chan enrolled into a TAFE music production course but dropped out because of his “spiralling drug use”, the court heard.
Chan used 1-2 grams of cocaine a day which he counteracted with Xanax and ketamine.
Chan promoted himself on social media under his music producer aliases Jackie Sauce and theSauce.
Chan also proclaimed his dreams of starting his own music label.
However, Chan has only being doing manual labour while on remand at Fulham Correctional Centre, the court heard.

Judge George Georgiou accepted Chan trafficked drugs for “financial reward”.
“You should know Mr Chan from your own addiction to illicit drugs the devastation and misery that drug traffickers cause to the lives of those who use and become addicted to drugs,” Judge Georgiou said.
Chan – who had spent 350 days in custody – was jailed for a maximum six years and two months.
