FOR the fourth time, the annual Moonee Valley Art Show will be showcasing a record number of artistic works to the community.

The show is set to be bigger than ever, with renowned artist David Chen returning to judge for a second time.

Gerard Mahoney, who was one of the instigators of the show four years ago, said the event would provide a rare chance for the community to visit the grounds of the heritage-listed North Park mansion.

Mr Mahoney said this year’s show was proving to be one of the most memorable.

“We’ve had a record number of submissions — more than 450 — of which about 250 will be displayed,” he said.

Run jointly by the Rotary clubs of Essendon and Keilor East, all profits from the show go towards Rotary projects.

The official gala opening is at the mansion on Woodland St, Essendon, on March 23 from 6.30pm.

It is open for viewing and sales on March 24 and 25.
