KYNETON Primary School will wind up its 161-year-old association with its Baynton St site later this year and is in the midst of collecting relics for an open day in November.

History project co-ordinator Julie Duncan said the day would give former students the chance to reminisce.

Historic displays would be on show that day.

Ms Duncan said the collection would then come part of the Kyneton Historical Society’s permanent collection.

“We have already collected a lot of photos, many of them class photos from the 1980s,” she said.

“We want to hear from families that have had a few generations go through the school and hoping for a wider array of relics, including old work books, stories and art displays.”

To share items contact kynetonprimaryevent@gmail.com or call the school on 5422 1855.
