The winery that produces some of the Australia’s best loved budget beverages is up for grabs.
Karadoc Winery in northwest Victoria has been operating since 1973 and makes wine for Treasury Wine Estates brands including Yellowglen, 19 Crimes and Lindeman’s.
Earlier this year TWE announced it planned to close the Red Cliffs winery in mid-2024, citing a decline in the consumption of commercial wine, particularly those that sold for less than $10 a bottle.
While the existing wine brands will continue to be made by Zilzie Wines, Qualia and at TWE’s Barossa winery, Karadoc will be sold.
The 183ha property has vintage processing capacity for 100,000 tonnes of grapes, 115 million litres of tank storage, 40,000 square metres of warehousing, a lab, tasting room, offices and visitor facilities.
The sale is being handled by South Australian based wine and beverage industry specialists South Langley and Co Advisors.
Langley and Co described Karadoc as an “impeccable and efficient site, developed and maintained to blue chip standards”.
Expressions of interest close on November 30.
