Pasta lovers are treated to the mesmerising art of watching gnocchi made in front of their eyes before taking it home for dinner at a new food lover’s haven in Coburg.
Gnoccheria by Take me home on Harding St is the first shop front by the family business, which had created a following at farmers markets across Melbourne in recent years.
Husband and wife duo Felicity Giuliani and Trent Marshall said the idea to open a store at the front of their commercial kitchen dated back to childhood Sunday nights.
“It’s such a dying art. One that I have been doing since I could stand on a chair to help my Mum and Nonna in the kitchen,” Ms Giuliani said.
“Every Sunday we would have fresh pasta handmade by Mum with a sauce that was slow-cooked for hours, our equivalent to a Sunday roast.
“Hand-making gnocchi and pasta for me, is bringing back some of the traditions that I grew up with. The gnoccheria is a bit of a homage to my roots and family.”
The shop offers more than 15 gnocchi flavours, from favourites like potato, basil and blue cheese to activated charcoal, pepperberry and parmesan, and fennel pollen and ricotta salad.

Lasagne, other fresh pastas and pizza bases are also available in the store.
“We have been known to sell out of the gnocchis by 11am at our markets no matter how many packets we take,” Mr Marshall said.
“When we looked at the number of packets of gnocchis we were selling at the markets, we knew it had to be something that focused on them.
“Plus watching someone hand-make gnocchi or pasta is quite mesmerising.”
Gnoccheria by Take me home can be found at 89B Harding St, Coburg and is open from 9am to 5pm weekdays.
