Coburg man’s luck has handed him the jackpot, making him an overnight millionaire

A Coburg man has become an instant millionaire after he won $1m in the lottery overnight — and he’s planing a trip to a warmer climate.

A Coburg man is celebrating a “life-changing” lottery win that turned him into a millionaire overnight.

The middle-aged man won Monday’s Weekday Windfall draw, winning the division one prize of $1m.

The now millionaire, who did not wish for his identity to be revealed, held the only division one winning entry nationally in the Weekday Windfall draw 4404.

His winning 12-game QuickPick entry was purchased from The Lott app.

The man said he planned to use his winnings to farewell his mortgage and go on an overseas holiday to a warmer climate.

Even after winning the lottery, the man went to work but said it would be a “bit hard to concentrate today”.

“I feel a bit disoriented right now … It’s absolutely life-changing,” he said.

“I got up early and went to go exercise and right before I was about to start, I decided to check my ticket. I couldn’t believe it. I looked at the $1m win and I was confused.

“It’s unbelievable. I’ll be able to pay off my house and be completely debt-free, which is absolutely amazing to think of at my age.

The millionaire said he spent all morning researching how he would get paid and what he would do with his prize.

“I’ve already started to scour for overseas destinations to visit … Who would’ve thought this would happen to me. This year has been such a blessing,” he said.

The winning numbers in the Weekday Windfall draw ​4404​ on ​Monday ​were ​38, 44, 3, 28, 24 and 7​, while the supplementary numbers were ​32​ and ​13​.
