Rainbow festivities are coming to Melbourne’s north in a street party full of fun and colour, celebrating queer culture for Midsumma.
Midsumma festivities are coming to Montmorency, in the Qwere St party, with a rainbow of LGBTQIA performers and artists.
Performers, including Bec Sandridge, Jaydean and Rachael Marie Cox will headline the free LGBTQIA friendly event.
Festival goers can dance along to the beats of DJ Sierra Jane, who played the event colourful last year.
“I am so excited to DJ because it is a phenomenal, welcoming event that brings people from different walks of life together to celebrate the LGBTQIA community,” she said.
“This event is out of this world, all who attend know they can be themselves and everyone really embraces that, it is magnificent to see and be involved in.”
There’ll also be a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream stand, water-slide and a jumping castle to provide loads of family fun, along with roving entertainment and a kids’ zone.
Banyule Mayor Alison Champion said the Midsumma street party was a great way for the community to come together and celebrate diversity.
