A Brunswick entrepreneur is behind a new non-profit business putting food on the table for those doing it tough.
Melantha Jansz started Meal to Heal this year as a platform for people to buy food vouchers and pay it forward.
Anyone in need of a free meal can sign up anonymously and receive a $20 meal voucher to be used with food delivery service Deliveroo.
Mr Jansz said it was his way to give back to an industry he was grateful for.
Meals can be purchased from any business connected to Deliveroo, which includes a host of small operators.
Meal to Heal has provided $580 worth of meals to recipients, who are required to provide proof of their disadvantage when they sign up.
All information is kept confidential.
Mr Jansz is covering the cost of the website and all transaction fees to ensure all of the money paid by the public goes to the vouchers.
