Angie’s Kitchen owner Angela Li said it was her aim to create an all-round dining experience.

“Food is about more than filling a tummy, it’s about socialising, gathering and coming together,” she said.

Ms Li said the restaurant was a place people could come to enjoy modern Chinese cuisine.

The restaurant will be dishing up delicious dumplings, wok-fried dishes and tasty share plates including Peking duck pancakes.

Moonee Ponds Central centre manager Doug Lowe said he had already taken his team down to try out the food.

“It had a great range not only in dumplings but in other fantastic dishes, and the service is terrific,” he said.

Mr Lowe said when the dining hall is completely finished it would be a true alfresco dining experience.

“We’re going to have seeding pods lit up and heated and covered from the elements along Hall St,” he said.

“The design is a bit functional and a bit quirky.”

He said the dining precinct was much needed in the area due to the explosion of high rise residential developments.

“People want a dining experience to get out of the unit, to get down and interact,” Mr Lowe said.

“Hall Street by default is becoming a bit of a dining destination.”
