EUROPEAN retailer TK Maxx will throw open the doors on its first Australian store in Moorabbin next week.

Famous for offering big brands at small prices the retailer will sell everything from designer handbags, to the latest on-trend fashion for women, men and kids, toys, luggage, cosmetics and shoes, plus an eclectic mix of home wares.

Spokeswoman Tessa Buenan said they were “thrilled” to bring TK Maxx to shoppers in Moorabbin.

“Australians love value, it’s something we know customers are looking for every time they shop. Our Moorabbin customers will discover an incredible selection of brands at exceptional values on offer throughout the entire store,” Ms Buenan.

She said one of things that makes TK Maxx different from other retailers is how they buy merchandise.

“We buy throughout the year, rather than seasonally, and close to need. So when a designer overproduces or other stores overbuy, we swoop in, negotiate the lowest possible price, and pass the savings on,” she said.

In addition to the brand new store in Moorabbin, TK Maxx is converting and reopening 34 former Trade Secret locations throughout April and May, with a few additional new stores planned to open later in the year. There are currently over 500 TK Maxx stores located in six European countries.

The Moorabbin opening day celebrations will kick off at 9am on April 20 with music and entertainment, live crosses and giveaway. And the first 1,000 shoppers to arrive in store will receive a stylish TK Maxx tote bag.

The store will be at Kingston Central Plaza, 288 Centre Dandenong Rd.
