THE devastated mother of a man shot dead two years ago is refusing to let his death be in vain.
On September 26, two years to the day from the tragic killing of Southbank man Kadir Ors in the Campbellfield Plaza car park, his mother will host a high tea to raise funds for drought- stricken farmers.
Craigieburn’s Nurdan Ors said the high tea would be the latest in a number of fundraisers, including helping orphans in Pakistan, refurbishing the bereavement room at Royal Women’s Hospital and feeding homeless people at Queen Victoria Market, which had been organised by a foundation in her son’s name.

Mrs Ors said the work of the Kadir Ors Foundation was helping to pull her from the depths of grief after the loss of her “beautiful son”.
“It has been horrible, our lives are over, it’s been the worst time of my life but I am proud of him and I want him to know the work will continue in his honour.”
Her 24-year-old electrician son had recently become engaged to his girlfriend Chloe before his sudden death, Mrs Ors said.
“He was one of those kids who was different because he got along with everyone.
“If he was still here he would definitely be trying to help people in some way,” Mrs Ors said.
Greenvale man George Marrogi, 27, was charged over the shooting.
His trial is set down to start on October 8.
As well as her charity work Mrs Ors is also working with vulnerable young people.
The high tea will be held at Rivers of Yarrambat, 28 Kurrak Rd, Yarrambat, from 2-4pm on September 26.
Tickets are $100.
Visit the Kadir Ors Foundation page to buy tickets to the high tea and find out more about the foundation.
