KIDS will have a snapping time at a new aquatic playground in Point Cook.

Crocodile Park has opened at Saltwater Coast as part of a $5.5 million upgrade to the wetlands.

More than 4000 people attended the opening this month where people held reptiles including crocodiles and meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The park has an aquatic playground with a bronze crocodile, outdoor amphitheatre, boardwalks and BBQ stations surrounding the lake.

Saltwater Coasts senior development manager Colin Greaves said the park had a perfect mix of fun aquatic activities for kids and beautiful relaxing wetlands for adults.

Mr Greaves said the park had been attracting people in droves from all over Melbourne.

He said it was a great community asset for Saltwater Coast residents.
