THE comedian behind a petition to get cult chocolate sensation Caramilk stocked permanently on supermarket shelves has revealed his motivation behind the move, as the number of signatures in support continues to climb.
And Cadbury hasn’t ruled out eventually making the chocolate a permanent product.
Comedian Christian Hull started the change.org petition two days ago, and the number of supporters has since ticked over 13,000.
Speaking to Leader, Hull said: “It’s super popular. Why would you slowly put something into market and then take it off the shelves?”
In a bold statement, Hull said to Cadbury: “Thank you so much for introducing me to Caramilk. I beg of you to please keep producing this delicious treat.”
Hull said he was addicted to the limited-edition chocolate and was now down to rations.
He said he “needed four to five pieces a day” to feed his addiction.
“You just can’t open a packet and have two pieces — how rude,” he said.
But in a statement, a Mondelez International spokesperson said the chocolate variety was never intended to be a permanent part of its range, but “never say never”.
“While there are no current plans in place to make Cadbury Caramilk, we have been overwhelmed by our consumers’ response to the product and as one of the world’s largest snacking companies, we are in the business of bringing our consumers more products they love,” it said.
