A woman has died and another has been seriously injured following a horror crash in the state’s north near Mildura on Wednesday morning.

A woman has died and another seriously injured following a horror crash at Merbein, near Mildura, on Wednesday morning.
It is believed an SUV and ute collided at the intersection of Paschendale Ave and Fifth Street about 7am.
The female driver of the SUV, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
Her passenger, a 26-year-old Mildura woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 54-year-old Merbein man who was driving the other vehicle, was not injured and is assisting police with their enquiries.
Mildura Highway Patrol will investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
