A Red Cliffs man has been busted having sex with a woman at a public park metres from a kindergarten and in full view of passers-by.

Glen Jopling, 49, fronted Mildura Magistrates’ Court to plead guilty to one count of behaving in an indecent manner in a public place.

The incident occurred in February last year when a member of the public noticed Jopling and a woman having sex at the park in Red Cliffs.

The court heard that after being spotted Jopling dressed himself, but the woman remained naked as he continued performing oral sex on her.

Police arrived shortly after, finding the pair lying fully clothed on the grass. Officers separated the two and interviewed them on-site.

Magistrate Patrick Southey condemned the choice of location, noting that while the activity was consensual, the setting was inappropriate.

“What we have here is consenting sexual activity between two adults, the only problem is that it was in broad daylight in a public place,” Mr Southey said.

Jopling was convicted and fined a total of $593.10.
