Police are investigating a suspicious car fire that has closed down Mildura street

A white Range Rover was set alight early Wednesday morning on Etiwanda Ave, prompting police to close the road while they investigated the circumstances surrounding the blaze.

A busy Mildura street has been closed to the public after an incident in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Police are investigating a suspicious car fire in Mildura after a white Range Rover was set torched on Etiwanda Ave around 5am.

According to investigators, the vehicle was torched on Etiwanda Ave about 5am by an unknown person.

No one was inside the car at the time of the incident.

Mildura Crime Investigation Unit detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the blaze.

Delays are expected on Etiwanda Ave between 12th and 13th streets.

People are being urged to avoid the area.
