Mildura Rural City Council will consider a petition about flood levees and make a judgement about the future of an adventure park at its first meeting of the year on Wednesday.
The petition, signed by more than 70 residents, calls for ongoing maintenance of the levee located at Karadoc Ave to protect the community from future floods.
The council is also considering the future of the playground at Nowingi Place, on the riverfront.
Plans for the Nowingi Place Adventure Park - which would have rock walls, slides, swings and a flying fox - were originally given the go-ahead by the council and its construction was due to be completed this year.
However the $750,000 project has been put on hold due to the flooding, with council now to consider which project should take its place in the 2023-2024 budget.
The three replacement projects to be considered are the Buxton Sobee Playground equipment replacement, the final development of the Koorlong playground and park and the annual playground shade program.
Council documents reveal the current playground equipment at Buxton Sobee playground is nearly 17 years old, meaning it is due for a replacement. Council is also considering upgrading the shade structure at the playground.
Until now Koorlong playground had been coming up on its final stages of development, with the concept design and budget already being approved.
The last project to be considered for the funding is the annual shade program.
This project hopes to install shade structures at s, Washington Park, Brodie Park, Hollywood Boulevard, and Diablo Park.
The issues will be discussed at the council meeting on Wednesday night.
