Narella Hollywood from Club Aquarius named Mildura’s best personal trainer

With more than 20 years experience in the industry, a personal trainer determined to connect with her clients has been named Mildura’s best.

A personal trainer with more than 20 years experience in the industry, who prides herself on connecting with her clients during challenging times, has been crowned Mildura‘s best in the business.

Narella Hollywood from Club Aquarius won a Herald Sun competition as voted by readers.

She said she was “shocked and humbled” to be recognised.

Since the early 2000s Narella has found a passion in small group training.

She said she loved seeing her clients change from the minute they start training.

“It is not only physical change but mental change as well,” Narella said.

“People walk in the door not very confident. They are scared to come in and then once you get them into that setting, make them feel welcome and make them believe they can really do it, everyone sees a change.

“Sharing knowledge with our clients is a really special thing.”

Narella said Covid and increased pressure from social media meant there was more of a mental challenge in exercising and keeping fit than ever before.

Narella opened Club Aquarius in January, 2000 with her husband John. She said it had always been his dream to open a gym after he spent many years in the army.

“We have just grown with the support of our team members and the community,” she said.

But Covid lockdowns and restrictions put pressure on the business, staff and clients.

“Keeping a connection with the clients and importantly with the team members to make sure everyone was okay, it was tough, really tough,” Narella said.

Narella thanked her husband John and her team for creating such a great environment.

She also thanked her clients for their support.

“There are so many awesome instructors in town and it is quite humbling to think that I am one of the favourites,” Narella said.
