Mildura stabbing: Man arrested after stabbing in Irymple

A man has been arrested after a stabbing outside a general store in Mildura, with the victim rushed to hospital with critical injuries.

A 21-year-old Irymple man has been arrested by detectives after a stabbing outside a general store in Mildura.

Investigators also seized a knife, allegedly used in the incident, that left a Mildura man, 32, with critical injuries.

A Victoria Police spokesman said emergency services were called to the general store in Fifteenth St Irymple, a suburb in Mildura, about 7am Tuesday, March 8 after reports a man had been stabbed.

A 32-year-old Mildura man was found with critical injuries and taken to Mildura Base Public Hospital.

He remains in a serious but stable condition.

After an investigation, detectives arrested the Irymple man at his home.

He is helping police with their inquiries and the investigation remains ongoing.

The general store is asking customers to use the back door as the front of the store remains a crime scene.
