An unemployed Mildura meth addict and father of three allegedly assaulted a woman so badly she was left covered in blood and bruises, a court has heard.

Ryan Fiebig fronted Mildura Magistrates’ Court to apply for bail having been charged with multiple counts of assault.

The court heard that on no less than three separate occasions Mr Fiebig is accused of brutally assaulting the woman, allegedly causing severe injuries each time.

The court heard Mr Fiebig allegedly threw the woman out of a door and down some stairs after smashing a hair dryer and throwing a broken piece in her face.

Police alleged that the victim’s face was cut open during this incident.

Mr Fiebig is accused of pushing a woman against a wall on Christmas Eve 2024 and shoving a phone in her face with such force it caused damage to her teeth, requiring dental work to repair.

Magistrate Michael Coghlan denied bail to Mr Fiebig and set down his next appearance for February 26.

On February 4, Mr Fiebig allegedly attempted to strangle the woman. He is accused of grabbing the alleged victim by her neck and squeezing so hard she was in fear for her life.

It was also alleged he grabbed a pair of scissors and threatened to stab her during the same incident.

Police claimed a forensic nurse checked over the alleged victim after the purported February assault and found further injuries to the woman.

When Mr Fiebig was interviewed by police, he told them he remembered the July and December incidents, but stopped short of incriminating himself.

Mr Fiebig said the February incident never happened and his alleged victim did them to herself to get him in trouble.

Leading Senior Constable Kristen Simm argued strongly against bail, saying police held concerns Mr Fiebig would try to get the woman to drop the charges.

Ms Simm added Mr Fiebig’s propensity for violence was concerning and the alleged victim was “petrified” at the prospect of Mr Fiebig receiving bail.

Magistrate Michael Coghlan raised concerns with Mr Fiebig’s allegedly escalating violence and dismissed the suggestion the alleged victim had inflicted the injuries on herself.

“A big concern for me, Mr Fiebig, is your willingness on multiple occasions to seek to choke the (alleged) victim,” Mr Coghlan said.

Mr Coghlan denied bail to Mr Fiebig and called the prosecution case a strong one at this stage.

Mr Fiebig is next slated to appear for a contest mention on February 26.
