A pair of sadistic sisters brutalised a four-year-old child over two days of sickening abuse, including hogtying the youngster and taking photographs of the helpless victim.

Shenae Fraser, 29, and PhobeFraser, 25, pleaded guilty to two charges of aggravated assault of a person under 15 years old at Mildura Magistrates’ Court on October 16, with a magistrate calling their offending “distressing and disturbing”.

The court heard Phobe physically restrained the four-year-old using the child’s clothing while Shenae took photographs of the distressed victim over two consecutive days in March this year.

The court heard one of the images depicted the child hogtied and laying face down on the floor, unable to move.

On March 19 Shenae sent images of the assault to multiple people via Facebook messenger.

Police went to Shenae’s Mildura unit on March 21 with a search warrant, arresting both sisters.

When interviewed by police, the sisters each made similar admissions to tying up the child and the photographs.

“We were just mucking around and playing. I completely forgot about the photos,” Shenae said.

“I was tickling him, and I don’t remember what happened next but I tied him up,” Phobe told police.

The court heard the sisters excused the vile offending as just “misguided pranks”.

Phobe’s defence lawyer Hugh Middleton said his client was now ‘horrified’ at her actions.

“She’s horrified that both these things have happened and horrified at the result of what she’s done,” he said.

“She is fully accepting of responsibility for what she’s done.”

Magistrate Michael Coghlan slammed the sisters over their offending, calling the images “distressing and disturbing”.

“This is a person who cannot defend themselves,” he said.

“Why would you want to send copies of these photographs?”

Mr Coghlan ordered the Fraser sisters to each complete a 12-month community corrections order, including 120 hours of unpaid community work.

Both sisters were also ordered to complete necessary rehabilitation programs to reduce the chance of their chance of reoffending.
