A 66-year-old man is assisting police after a multi-day search of a rundown Red Cliffs property uncovered a cache of firearms, firearm parts, and ammunition.
The operation, led by the Mildura Crime Investigation Unit (MCIU), centred on a Pumps Rd property in Red Cliffs in the state’s north.
Structural issues at the site prompted authorities to call in specialist resources to ensure the search could proceed safely.
Police seized multiple firearms, ammunition, and firearm components during the investigation.
Officers remained on-site today despite sweltering heat as they continued their thorough search.

“A 66-year-old Red Cliffs man is currently assisting police with their inquiries,” a Victoria police spokeswoman said.
“A number of firearms, firearm parts, and ammunition have also been seized from the property. The investigation remains ongoing.”
The Herald Sun understands a man is likely to appear in the Mildura Magistrates’ Court on Friday in connection with the case.
