Jeremy Grace, 48, pleaded guilty in Mildura Magistrates’ Court to charges including hindering police, possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest, and possessing a drug of dependence.
The court heard that in May, police pulled Grace over in his grey 2018 Land Cruiser early in the morning. When officers approached, Grace got out of the vehicle and produced a Queensland driver’s licence.
Police said he was aggressive and attempted to hide drugs by throwing them into nearby bushes. Officers retrieved the drugs and arrested him. Grace resisted, shouting, “What for?” as he was taken into custody.
He was found with 1.35 grams of methamphetamine and refused to provide his name and address during a recorded interview.
In August, police again saw Grace in his 2018 Land Cruiser acting suspiciously at the OTR on Deakin Ave. After pulling him over and searching his vehicle, they found a glasses case containing a glass pipe and methamphetamine.
Police said Grace grabbed the glasses case containing the pipe from an officer and threw it away, but police retrieved it.
“It’s all lies. Have they got the video footage? They followed me from home. I was targeted,” Grace told Magistrate Rose Falla.
Ms Falla pressed Grace on whether he accepted the summary to which Grace replied, “Yeah, I accept it. I just want to get it over with.”
Grace was convicted and received an $800 fine.
