Family mourn Balranald dad Marcus Murray

A 33-year-old dad from a town near Mildura is being remembered as a “family man” after his sudden death.

A 33-year-old man from the western NSW Riverina town of Balranald passed away just days after Christmas leaving his family devastated and his community shocked.

Marcus Murray, affectionately known as Marto, was described by his sister-in-law Karleasha Mitchell as a “family man who was well respected in his community”.

Ms Mitchell said her sister, Kylie, along with her nephews and nieces Kadin, 13 and Kyla, 11, were understandably absolutely distraught following his passing.

“He was the love of my sister’s life. He was a funny bloke, he would do anything for anyone, we are all just devastated,” Ms Mitchell said.

While the whole family have been dealing with their grief, Ms Mitchell has set up a GoFundMe to help with costs associated with the upcoming funeral, along with ongoing expenses for the two children dealing with the loss of their father.

“The last thing they need is to worry about how to pay for his funeral,” she said.

“Even if it is just a dollar, it would be so appreciated by his family.”
