A homeless Mildura man has shocked the court by turning down a 45-day jail offer — insisting he wants the full two years’ sentence instead, a court has heard.

Cetin Alcicek fronted Mildura Magistrates’ Court on charges related to an incident where he was allegedly busted in public completely naked and assaulting a woman.

The court heard Mr Alcicek had allegedly assaulted the woman near Eleventh St in Mildura.

It was claimed in court that he was seen by members of the public, completely naked and slapping a woman after having a verbal argument with the same person.

The court heard of another occasion where Mr Alcicek was allegedly yelling abuse at two different women and bent over, pulled his pants down and pulled his butt cheeks apart toward them.

Magistrate Patrick Southey offered Mr Alcicek a 45 day sentence but it was sensationally knocked back by Mr Alcicek.

A Victim Impact Statement read to the court revealed one woman now lived in constant fear, takes medication to manage her anxiety, and has become increasingly isolated due to the trauma as a result of Mr Alcicek’s alleged offending.

Magistrate Patrick Southey detailed his familiarity and frustration at Mr Alcicek and his alleged offending over the past couple of years.

“He’s got no respect for the law. He is a selfish man and has (allegedly) made his (victims) life a misery,” Mr Southey said.

Mr Southey offered Mr Alcicek a 45-day sentence — but the accused sensationally knocked it back.

“I want the full two years,” Mr Alcicek told the court.

Clearly taken aback, Mr Southey adjourned the case to May 14, adding he hoped the additional time in custody might prompt a more “sensible” decision.

“I am pretty stubborn, your honour,” Mr Alcicek replied.
