A Mildura man who was arrested in dramatic scenes on Friday has had his bail application denied on alleged armed robbery and firearms charges.
Jamal Johnson, 27, cited medical reasons including heart issues, blood clots and the requirement of a sleep apnoea machine as his reasons for wanting bail which was promptly denied by Magistrate Patrick Southey.
It is alleged Mr Johnson and two as yet unidentified co-accused forced entry into a Mildura house twice in the same day, firing a weapon into the house on the second occasion as the home’s occupants fled and contacted police.
