Victorian LGAs with the most active Covid cases

Hotels to treat COVID patients in Victoria

The City of Casey recorded the biggest jump in Covid cases on Friday, with more than 600 new infections.

It comes as Victoria recorded 18,167 new cases and 20 deaths.

There are now 252,399 active cases across the state.

Casey (631), the City of Whittlesea (607), Wyndham (583), Greater Geelong (540), and Melton (522) recorded the biggest jump in new cases, while the West Wimmera region and Mansfield recorded no new cases.

Areas with the highest number of total active cases are Wyndham (5346), Casey (5225), the City of Whittlesea (4912) and Hume (4827).

Postcode 3029, (which includes the suburbs of Tarneit, Hoppers Crossing and Truganina), has the highest number of active cases, with 2772, followed by postcode 3064 (which includes the suburbs of Craigieburn, Mickleham and Roxburgh Park) which has 2299 cases.
