A man has been accused of stalking a TV news presenter through Instagram in a disturbing bid to get her to sleep with him, a court has heard.

The Craigieburn man has been put back in jail after allegedly targeting the presenter and a female police constable in a sickening stalker plot.

Rhyese Culshaw, 32, was charged with 13 counts of stalking, harassment, breaching bail conditions and arousing fear in victims.

He was arrested on November 20, and appeared at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 27, for a bail application.

In a statement provided to the court, police claim Mr Culshaw contacted the presenter more than 100 times via Instagram, email, text messages, voicemail and sent pictures of himself.

The court heard in the messages, Mr Culshaw said, “Let’s have sex, f--- like crazy if you want us to,”, and, “What do I have to say or do, from me to you to get you in bed with me for sex,” followed by emojis.

Court documents reveal Mr Culshaw told police he “regretted nothing” when stalking the TV personality just days after being released on bail.

“The accused talked about having just been released from jail 15 days prior,” the statement said.

“While in custody he had watched her presenting the news on TV and knew she was single and wanted to ‘have a go’ when he got out.

“In relation to his text messages and calls the accused stated that he regretted nothing and that he was proud of what he had done.

“The accused said he wouldn’t call it stalking, harassment maybe.”

In 2019, Mr Culshaw was involved became obsessed with a female police constable.

The court heard police claimed he called the station everyday for 25 days asking to speak with her and find out what days and hours she worked.

In January 2020, he visited the station on multiple days in the early hours of the morning to find her.

Mr Culshaw is in jail and has served 272 days of pre-sentence detention.

The case will return to the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
