Two robbers have waltzed through security access points to a Melbourne apartment using a fob key an owner left in the mailroom of the complex.
Police say the pair entered the mail room of the Flinders Lane apartment complex between 3 and 6.30am on November 29 and began searching mailboxes.
Police told The Melbourne City News they found a fob key – a small electric security device used an alternative to a key – left in the mail room, which gave the pair access to one of the apartment floors.
Once there, they went into an unlocked apartment and stole a laptop, wallet and cigarettes and used the victims credit cards a short time later at a convenience store on Collins St.
Police have released images of the two men in the hope someone will recognise them.
