The Gourmet Meat Rack has come out on top winning the hearts of Northcote locals, combining high-quality produce with and family values.
The shop prides itself on “quality, expertise and mouth-watering goodness” straight from the farm to the table.
The butcher was opened in 1989 by Gourmet Meat Rack owner Jim Hadjitelemachou who said the family run shop has attracted generations of customers coming in.
“Since 1989 we have been in the same spot but have grown and added an extension on,” he said.
“We buy from the same suppliers for 32 years and have seen several generations take over businesses.
“I’ve got my sons working with me and eventually they will take over here, now we see customers coming back with their kids and grandchildren telling us their grandparents would come here.
“If you do the right thing by the customer they keep coming back, we have people visiting from Frankston, Mr Eliza and Oakleigh, and are popular in the Greek community.”
Products on the chopping block include pork, chicken, beef, lamb and a full range of game meats including goat, kangaroo, duck and quail.
Free range pork and chicken on the butchers table is certified organic and sourced locally.
Beef and lab cuts are free range and grass fed without herbicides or pesticides.
The shop has been flooded with Christmas orders but there’s still time to get your list in and check it twice.
The Gourmet Meat Rack is located in the Northcote Plaza Shopping Centre and is open seven days a week. For more visit thegourmetmeatrack.com.au
