They’re lurking everywhere. They could be your sports club volunteer, your friendly neighbour or your school pick-up pal but Melbourne’s sicko sex fiend dads could be anyone and anywhere.
The businessman grub who hightailed to Macca’s for a schoolgirl sex sojourn, a cricketing dad who hoarded child abuse material and pedophile footy volunteer who violated multiple children are among Melbourne’s most sickening sex fiend dads.
HOTEL FIEND DAD
A fiend dad who sexually violated a child after plying her with meth in a city hotel room was made a registered sex offender.
Harrison Oakley was sentenced in the County Court in November to an 18-month community correction order after pleading guilty to sexual penetration of a child under 16.
Oakley, who also pleaded guilty to supplying drugs to a child, fed his 15-year-old victim drugs including speed over several weeks in late-2020.
The Sunbury dad then arranged to stay in a hotel with the child where he plied his victim with meth and sexually violated her multiple times.
Police seeking the missing child found the victim and a friend in a room at the city hotel.
Police arrested Oakley at his parents’ Sunbury home on December 15.
Oakley, now unemployed and living in Glenroy, admitted his offending when questioned by police.
The court was told Oakley asked his victim to marry him.
The court heard Oakley, a dad, worked for his uncle but had dabbled in many different education and employment opportunities.
The defence submitted Oakley was “intelligent” but “vulnerable” and he was prone to bullying.
Judge Wendy Wilmoth ordered Oakley perform 100 hours of unpaid community work and undertake drug and alcohol treatment and counselling.
Oakley, who was made a registered sex offender for 15 years, must also undertake a sex offender treatment program.
CHILD GROOMER DAD
A sicko Gisborne dad who groomed a schoolgirl for sex after meeting his victim at the Woodend Children’s Park avoided a jail stint.
Michael Taylor was sentenced in the County Court in September to an 18-month community correction order after pleading guilty to use a carriage service to groom person under 16 years to engage in sexual activity.
Taylor barraged his victim with lewd messages and images via Facebook between November 2019 and March last year.
The fiend suggested to his victim they meet up for drinks and discussed the pair doing drugs together.
Taylor sent a half-naked image of himself and asked his victim to send him a photograph.
He then followed this with a serious of graphic messages.
Taylor ramped up his sexually explicit messages to his schoolgirl victim.
The fiend’s depravity ended abruptly on March 27 after Taylor’s partner discovered a message he sent the victim.
Taylor was hauled in by police for questioning but denied knowing his victim.
The fiend then contacted his victim after he was released and told her he would be going to jail and asked if she would miss him.
Police, who managed to track down the victim, discovered some messages on the girl’s phone.
Several other messages had been deleted, the court was told.
The victim told police Taylor sent her a Facebook friend request after meeting him at the park.
The court heard Taylor has several children to two former partners who are half-sisters and hopes to have full care of his children once the legal proceedings have been finalised.
Taylor was made a registered sex offender for eight years.
NEIGHBOURHOOD PEDO DAD
A Croydon dad has been exposed as a pedophile after he performed lewd sexual acts on multiple children.
Trevor Hendley was sentenced in the County Court in November to a minimum eight years’ jail after pleading guilty to multiple sexual penetration of a child under 16 charges.
Hendley, who also pleaded guilty to multiple indecent act with a child charges, committed his vile acts on multiple children at various locations and times between the 1980s and 2000s.
The fiend sexually penetrated and committed lewd acts on the children including a victim who was aged 4 when the offending commenced.
Hendley, of Croydon, also made a victim commit a vile sexual act on him.
Hendley told a victim “don’t tell anyone” and “this is our secret” after he committed a lewd act.
Investigators arrested and interviewed Hendley in February 2019.
Hendley, a father of two sons, denied offending but “agreed” he played “tickle games” with a victim.
Judge Douglas Trapnell said Hendley’s “insidious” offending “destroyed” his victims’ lives.
“On behalf of the Victorian community I denounce your conduct …,” Judge Trapnell said.
“It is clear your offences have had a devastating effect on each of your victims.
“The victim impact statements were brave, eloquent and moving, they describe the insidious natures of offences against children and the profound and long lasting affects they have on the primary victims as well as their families …
“This is another case of extreme trauma suffered (by the victims) … for a few minutes of sexual gratification.
“You completely destroyed these young women’s lives …
“This was truly appalling conduct … you repeatedly debauched these young girls … for your own selfish sexual gratification.
“This is indeed grave offending calling for condign punishment.”
The court heard Hendley was born in Ringwood, grew up in Park Orchards and his dad was a former teacher and district Scout leader.
The court heard Hendley supported his sons while they played at a local football club.
Hendley’s offending was not linked to his own children nor anyone involved at the football
Hendley was jailed for a maximum 13 years and made a registered sex offender for life.
FILTH PHOTOGRAPHER DAD
A stay-at-home Perth dad who sexually penetrated a young Victorian boy was jailed.
Brad Spencer was sentenced in the County Court in August to seven months’ jail after pleading guilty to multiple counts of sexual penetration and indecent acts with a child under 16.
Spencer started offending when his victim was aged 10, the court heard.
He kicked off his lewd conduct by telling the boy he wanted to play a game of “truth or dare”.
The court was told Spencer violated and sexually abused the child multiple times, “every chance he could”.
Spencer also showed the boy how to masturbate and made the victim perform lewd acts.
The court was told the boy “complied” because he was “ashamed”.
Spencer treated his victim as an “object” for his “sexual gratification”, the court heard.
The offending ended when Spencer moved to Perth.
The court heard Spencer is a photographer and stay-at-home dad who lives with his partner in the Perth suburb of Hammond Park.
Spencer was sentenced to two years and nine months’ jail but two years and two months of the term was suspended for three years.
BORDER FORCE SICKO DAD
An ex-Border Force officer specifically trained on how to find objectionable material on incoming passengers admitted hoarding his own horrific collection of child abuse imagery.
Justin Anderson was sentenced in the County Court in December to an immediate five-month jail term after pleading guilty to accessing and possessing child abuse material.
Anderson was arrested at the Fraser Rise home he shared with his wife and son on December 17 2020.
Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team investigators pounced on Anderson after he shared child abuse material on peer-to-peer network Gnutella.
Authorities seized electronic devices including mobile phones, computers and external storage devices which contained a combined 475 child abuse material files.
Further examination revealed Anderson had accessed child abuse material stretching back to 2019, the court was told.
Anderson’s grubby material including vile files which depicted or described a “child as a victim of physical or sexual abuse”.
The fiend was also caught with a video titled: ‘ANNI 10 Hussyfan (Pthc) Vicky 7yo and 10yo 69 Pedo Child Porno Lolita’.
Anderson initially denied he possessed any child abuse material when interviewed by police.
“Well, no,” Anderson said.
“No … not that I can think of anyway.”
Anderson gave a “false explanation” after police informed him child abuse material had been located on his computer tower.
The fiend claimed he “noticed” child abuse material on his computer which “inadvertently appeared” after downloading files via uTorrent.
Anderson also “suggested” his computer was “doing things that were not under his control”.
The grub claimed a “virus” downloaded the material or “someone” had regained remote access.
Anderson told investigators he knew (possessing child abuse material) was serious because as a Border Force officer he had been trained to assess passengers arriving into Australia and to
examine their mobile devices for such “objectionable material”.
Anderson later claimed he accessed the child abuse material “out of sheer curiosity” and he was “gobsmacked” at how easy it was to find.
Anderson was released but a few days later the fiend, via his lawyer, indicated he
would like to “come clean”.
The court heard Anderson worked for Australian Border Force since 2013 but quit after he was charged in December last year.
Anderson worked as a customs officer at Melbourne Airport before he was promoted to a city-based team leader in 2018.
Judge Arushan Pillay sentenced Anderson to a two-year and six month jail term but he will be released on a 30-month good behaviour bond after serving five months.
Anderson was made a registered sex offender for 15 years.
BUSINESSMAN GRUB DAD
A businessman dad exposed as a child sex fiend after he groomed a schoolgirl for sex via social media was jailed.
Benjamin Robert was sentenced in the County Court in November 2020 to nine months’ jail after pleading guilty to use a carriage service to procure a person believed to be under 16 years of age.
Robert, from Clyde, sent lewd messages and images via KiK and WhatsApp to who he believed was a 14-year-old schoolgirl named ‘Isy Cooper’.
In reality the depraved dad had engaged in “sexualised” communication with an undercover cop between February 13 and 27 this year.
Robert, under the account name ‘brobot’, sent images of his penis, called her “gorgeous” and asked for lewd images after learning his target was a 14-year-old Year 8 student.
“What ever your (sic) comfortable with babe,” Robert said.
The father of three then told Isy she had “kissable lips” and he wanted to give her a “sensual experience”.
Isy told Robert she had never had sex so the fiend said he would “leave that part for now”.
Robert then steered the conversation towards meeting in person.
He suggested the pair could meet for lunch at the beach and he could “perform oral sex” and “make her orgasm”.
Robert then asked if he could have a “sexy pic”.
“In your shorts and maybe your top … or your top and maybe just your underwear,” Robert said.
Robert sent an image of his genitalia to Isy while he was at work on February 20, the court heard.
The pair arranged to meet at Frankston McDonald’s on February 27.
Robert drove to Frankston just after 2pm.
He bought a box of Ferrero Rocher at a nearby service station after Isy had asked for phone credit and chocolates then made his way to the McDonald’s.
Police pounced and arrested Robert on Wells St where the sicko became emotional.
“I wasn’t gunna do anything, I wasn’t gunna do anything, please,” Robert told police.
Police asked about the chocolates but Robert claimed they were for his family.
“(I wanted to) be a good dad and buy some chocolates,” he said.
Police showed Robert an image of his genitalia but he denied it was his.
Robert, who told the court he’s employed as a business development adviser, lost his job after he was charged with these offences.
Robert was sentenced to two years’ jail time but was released on a two-year good behaviour bond after serving nine months.
CHILD ABUSE MATERIAL HOARDER DAD
A Mt Waverley dad who downloaded vile child porn because he found teenage girls “more exciting” was jailed.
Gareth Dunstan was sentenced in the County Court in October 2020 to six months’ jail after pleading guilty to use a carriage service to access child pornography.
Dunstan landed on the police radar after he accessed members-only child pornography site Website M.
The depraved dad — who also pleaded guilty to possess child abuse material — purchased child pornography from the site on seven occasions between April 2015 and April 2019.
The vile website charges members a fee to access and download encrypted files which contain horrid child pornography images and videos.
Some of the files purchased by Dunstan included a vile depictions of children in costumes and swim wear including a file which depicted a 12 or 13-year-old girl in a Spider Man costume.
Another file downloaded by Dunstan was titled ‘Daisy-purple-naughty-girl’.
Police — who linked Dunstan to Website M via his email address, mobile phone and two VISA credit cards — stormed Dunstan’s Mt Waverley home on March 17 2020.
Investigators seized a laptop, a tablet, a storage device and mobile phone which contained a combined 6036 child pornography videos and images.
Dunstan told police he “avoided eight-year old-girls” but was “more interested in 14 or 15-year-old-girls”.
“A bit of excitement factor if it’s underage,” Dunstan said.
Dunstan also told police the victims “seemed to be enjoying the acts”.
However, Judge Kevin Doyle said Dunstan’s material was “all repulsive and abusive”.
“The reason general deterrence is important is because he’s feeding the market with the production of this material,” Judge Doyle said.
“The protection of these children is a very relevant sentencing principle.”
Dunstan was jailed for 20 months but was released on a two-year good behaviour bond after serving six months.
He was made a registered sex offender for eight years.
‘WOGWEAPON’ PERVERT DAD
A perverted Thomastown dad who used social media to groom a target he believed was a 14-year-old schoolgirl for sex was jailed.
Adrian Raschella was sentenced in the County Court in October 2020 to six months’ jail after pleading guilty to using a carriage service to procure a person believed to be under 16 years of age.
Raschella thought he was talking to a 14-year-old girl when he repeatedly messaged an undercover cop on the Kik application between May 2019 and January 2020.
Acting under the usernames ‘wogweapon79’ and ‘bots piss off’, the married man immediately began sexual conversations with ‘Sienna’.
He sent her pornographic photos, suggesting they try re-enacting the images, and asked her to send him “live” bikini pics.
Raschella repeatedly asked ‘Sienna’, who told him she was a virgin, to meet up for sex, and continued even after his requests went ignored.
He suggested they both pull sick days and that he go down to Westfield Fountain Gate to meet up with her, or that she catch the train to Reservoir to meet him.
Raschella was arrested at his home in February and bailed with the condition he not use the internet.
The Victoria University graduate worked as a graphic designer for an auto car part company before joining Victorian Performance Warehouse.
Judge Martine Marich said it was unusual to see use of “deeply explicit language” over such a long period of time.
Raschella was sentenced to 18 months’ jail but was released after 6 months to be of good behaviour for two years.
He was made a registered sex offender for eight years.
PERSONAL TRAINER SICKO DAD
A Langwarrin personal trainer exposed as a sicko sex fiend after he groomed two targets he believed were underage schoolgirls avoided a jail sentence.
Matthew Minney was sentenced in the County Court in October 2020 to three-year adjourned undertaking after pleading guilty to use a carriage service to groom a child under 16.
Minney sent sordid messages via social media KiK to undercover police posing as underage teen girls between May and September last year.
The court was told Minney – who also pleaded guilty to solicit child porn using a carriage service — groomed his targets and solicited lewd images.
Minney, a personal trainer who managed the Keysborough F45 gym at the time of the offending, knew both his targets were underage and at school.
“We will be each other’s secret,” Minney said.
Minney asked his target if she was at school today and what kind of “relationship” she wanted.
The operative sent Minney a photo at his request of a young girl with blonde hair and a pink T-shirt.
“I think we could have a lot of fun together,” Minney replied.
Minney texted his target another time while the operative pretended to be sick in bed.
“Good cuddle weather,” Minney said.
“Anyone looking after you? … Shame I’m home alone: P.”
“U don’t want my flu tho,” the operative said.
“Hmmm maybe still worth it,” Minney said.
Minney messaged the girl saying he wanted to see her because “from what I’ve seen you are hot”.
Minney then requested an image of the girl while she was in the bathroom.
“I want to see all of you!!,” he said.
“You are really sexy.
“One more pic please … Of your face and body. Oh and one of your butt!!!.”
The operative told Minney she had recently turned 15 and the pair discussed the legality of their correspondence.
“Well technically I shouldn’t be doing anything with you until you are 16,” Minney said.
The sex creep then asked the operative to meet him in person.
Minney messaged his second target in September.
He learned early that he was messaging a purported 14-year-old schoolgirl.
Minney continued his lewd messaging and even asked his victim about her sexual experience.
“What’s the oldest you’ve ever been with,” he said.
He also requested a photo of the girl at her school.
“Let me see my girl xx,” he said.
Minney requested to meet his target then police — who had been onto the pervert since January — pounced and raided his home on October 3.
The court was told Minney was in the navy from 2009 to 2017 before he commenced working as a personal trainer.
Minney, a dad, also managed the Keysborough F45 gym while he offended.
He and his wife had purchased a home but she left him after learning about his crimes.
It was submitted the couple sold their home at a loss and what was left went to Minney’s ex-wife who had recently given birth to their first child.
Judge Scott Johns said the content of Minney’s messages was “disturbing” and children must be protected from “predators” like him.
Minney was jailed for two-and-a-half years but was released on a good behaviour bond for three years.
He must undertake a sex offender treatment program.
