Peter Bollas appeared via videolink in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court where he donned a blue checkered-shirt and a lengthy beard that stretched beyond his chest.

On Friday afternoon, lawyer Tony Hargreaves indicated the 49-year-old would plead guilty to a single charge of corruptly receiving valuable consideration from the director of cleaning contractor Transclean.

A second charge was withdrawn during the mention.

Court documents state the alleged offending took place between May 6 and August 19 in 2020.

The documents allege he received cash payment over a number of months that Metro Trains was unaware of with the expectation he would show favour to Transclean.

In August, $59,950 cash was found in a duffel bag under his bed.

The matter was adjourned to October 11 where Bollas was expected to appear in court.
