A Melbourne duo in their 30s have been busted and suspected of trafficking two well known drugs following a CBD apartment raid.

Major Drug Squad detectives raided the apartment on St Kilda Rd about noon on Tuesday.

Officers found quantities of 1,4 butanediol, also known as bute, along with methylamphetamine, electronic devices and alleged stolen and false ID documents during their search.

Prior to Tuesday’s raid, it is alleged 25 litres of bute was also seized by officers in connection to the investigation.

A 37-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were arrested and charged at the apartment.

Police believe the woman was importing the drugs to Melbourne via mail, and officers remanded her in custody.

She has been charged with attempting to traffick a commercial quantity of bute and possession of the drug, along with possession of methylamphetamine, committing indictable offences while on bail, and possessing identification information to facilitate an indictable offence.

The 31-year-old man was bailed and charged with trafficking and possessing both drugs.

The woman will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, while the man will appear in court at a later date.
