A Southbank party girl has shocked a Magistrate after her “disgusting” actions traumatised a security guard.

Harare Sheridan, 24, fronted the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, April 29, and pleaded guilty to one charge of unlawful assault.

The court heard the woman and her co-accused sister went dancing at Crown Casino in the early hours of February 2, 2020.

But when a Crown bouncer decided the pair were too drunk and escorted them out of the venue, Sheridan spat in the security guard’s face.

The court heard after arguing with the bouncer and trying to get back to the dancefloor, the young woman spat in the man’s face and yelled, “I have HIV,” before her sister hit him in the face.

Magistrate Rose Falla said she was speechless that someone would degrade another person in that way.

“There are people sadly like you, who behave in a way that is unlawful and requires people to intervene to keep other patrons and other people that use the Crown precinct,” Ms Falla said.

“The fact that someone spits, I think, is not only disgusting, but it is so degrading.

“I’m really quite speechless, that people still behave in a way that is, just deplorable.

Ms Falla told Sheridan she had jailed people for similar conduct.

“People should be able to go out and have a good night, not be exposed to your conduct and your behaviour,” the magistrate said.

The court heard the incident was captured on CCTV.

Police went to the casino and released the pair pending summons — they were too drunk to be interviewed.

The victim’s impact statement said he had since quit his security job citing the psychological impact the incident had on him.

The court heard Sheridan had herself tested for HIV and the results came back negative.

Ms Sheridan and her sister wrote an apology to the victim.

Sheridan has been convicted and fined $2000.
