Dr Ian Maxwell Deitch fronts court over indecent assault claim

Another patient has come forward with a complaint against a Melbourne chiropractor who is accused of digitally penetrating his patients.

A patient is accusing Melbourne chiropractor Ian Deitch of indecently assaulting her in 2011.

A Melbourne chiropractor already fighting allegations of raping and sexually assaulting female patients during consultations has been slapped with another charged of indecent assault

The former director of Chirolife in Rosanna, Dr Ian Maxwell Deitch, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday for a filing hearing on one charge of indecent assault.

Dr Deitch allegedly put his hand into a female patient’s underwear and made small circular motions over the pubic area in May 2011.

No plea was taken and the matter was adjourned for a committal mention hearing on September 13.

The prosecution informed Magistrate Stephen Ballek that the latest charges could potentially join up with nine charges of sexual assault including three of rape Dr Deitch was already facing before the County Court.

He was committed to County Court following a four-day committal mention in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in April when Queensland-based chiropractor Robert Bailey was called as a prosecution witness.

Chiropractor Dr Ian Maxwell Deitch is facing a fresh charge of indecently assaulting a patient.

Dr Bailey told the court that digital penetration of vagina was well outside the scope of practice of chiropractors.

Dr Deitch allegedly sexually assaulted the women between 2013 and 2021, including digitally penetrating and touching their vaginas without consent.

Charge sheets state the chiropractor also allegedly touched a woman’s breast and nipples, rubbed his clothed erect penis on her head and kissed her without consent.

Dr Deitch owns and operates Markwell Nutrition which sells magnesium supplement Colozone Plus.
