Melburnian’s from today will be able to make an appointment at their GP to get the COVID vaccine as the next stage of the life-saving jab rollout begins.

Demand is so high some clinics are already booked out with most only receiving 50 doses a week.

Health Minister Greg Hunt is urging people to be patient and this is a “game changer” for the country.

“No-one will miss out, whether they live in a city or country town or a very remote area,” he said.

“Vaccines are the game changer in our fight against the COVID-19 virus and I urge everyone in Australia to come forward and get vaccinated when they are able to.”

Today 285 clinics in Victoria will carry the vaccine with the number due to expend before the end of April.
