A sex-addict masseur who was fired from bars and hotels he worked at for having flings with his clients has been jailed for raping a woman after helping her carry her shopping.

Bradley Harris denied the offending and called the victim a slut, b---h and a junkie who had lied about being raped.

The 47-year-old from Abbotsford claimed they had consensual sex but a jury found him guilty of rape and Harris was sentenced in the County Court on Tuesday to a minimum of four years’ imprisonment.

He told clinical and forensic psychologist Dr Ahona Guha that he did not ask the victim for consent because he said “I follow my d—k”. “I love sex and will do anything for it”, he said.

The court heard that Harris raped the woman in May 2021 in Melbourne after he helped her carry her shopping.

He has since been diagnosed with schizophrenia and delusional, social personality, emotionally unstable personality and autism spectrum disorders.

In her report to court, Dr Guha said it appeared Harris had been hypersexual from a young age and found it difficult to manage his urges.

Judge Douglas Trapnell said a great concern for Dr Guha was that Harris’ behaviour in future may escalate and involve more threatening and intimidating approaches to women he’d encounter in daily life for his sexual gratification.

Harris’ criminal history dated back to 1997, spanning Victoria, Queensland and the US, especially of sexual offences and stalking.

In June 2004 in Colorado, he was convicted of sexual contact and sexual assault that involving two women.

The charge of sexual contact involved a massage client. Harris said he knew he was going to get fired from his job so decided to “f--k the client”.

Judge Trapnell said the quality of life for the woman Harris raped in Melbourne has been greatly affected.

“As a result of your offending, she couldn’t talk to anyone for six to eight weeks, she couldn’t tell her daughter who she used to talk to every night. She constantly fears you’ll be waiting for her outside her apartment,” Judge Douglas Trapnell said.

Harris’ total sentence was six years and six months.
