Abbotsford man pays 15-year-old Grindr date for sex

An Abbotsford sicko has admitted to giving a young teen cash for sex, and offered more money if the boy brought younger friends.

An Abbotsford man paid a 15-year-old boy for sex, having offered the teen more cash if he brought “younger mates” to the meeting, a court has heard.

The man in his 40s, who cannot be named for legal reasons, fronted the County Court to plead guilty to one charge of entering into an agreement under which a child was to provide sexual services for payment.

The court heard the man performed sex acts with a 15-year-old boy at the man’s Abbotsford home on September 6, 2019.

He then paid the teenager $350, as the pair had previously arranged.

The man also paid for taxi rides to take the boy to and from his home.

The man had found the teen on the networking application Grindr, with the teen’s profile stating he was 19 and wanted rewards for sexual activity.

Using a Grindr pseudonym, the man first messaged the boy on June 24, 2019, saying, “Love rewarding young teen Asian boys”.

The boy told the man he was 16, before the man messaged him again the next day: “I do anything for young Asian boys.”

Days later the man offered the boy “100 per load” adding, “more $ if u bring your mates with u ;)”.

On the day of their meeting the man messaged the boy offering him $200, then upped his price to $300 when the boy claimed he was 14.

At the man’s home the boy admitted he was actually 15 before they engaged in sexual activity.

The man messaged the boy in the days after asking if he wanted to have sex again.

The boy later revealed the exchange to his father and psychologist, before reporting it to police on September 13, 2019.

The court heard the man had pleaded guilty to the charge following a sentence indication, during which it was agreed he would not receive a jail term.

He will be sentenced on January 14.
