A WANTIRNA teenager is making a splash in the diving world.

Billie Bennett, 16, won two gold medals in the springboard event at the School Sport Victoria competition in April at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.

The Vermont Secondary College Year 10 student started diving six years ago and is a member of the Ringwood Diving Club.

She trains five times a week at Aquanation Ringwood and is also working to become a diving coach.

“I really like the challenge (of diving), and all the friends you make, it’s a good community,” Billie said.

She also does an acrobatics class to help improve her diving technique and to build up her strength and flexibility.

Bille is a Knox Leader Junior Sports star nominee.
