Mt Eliza siblings Hamish and Tahlee Ferguson make the state teams

TALK about a sporty family! These Mt Eliza siblings have both made their state teams.

IT’S a case of the family that trains together, succeeds together for the Fergusons.

Mt Eliza siblings Hamish, 16, and Tahlee, 14, are making massive strides in their chosen sports — triathlon and athletics. Both have made representative teams — Hamish the School Sports Victoria senior boys triathlon team and Tahlee the Athletics Victoria under-16 girls (shot put) team.

The siblings said support and encouragement from parents Carolyn, a former international race walker, and Dougal, a keen triathlete, had been vital to their success.

The parents often join in on training sessions to provide advice and help their offspring stay motivated.

Tahlee said she loved competing and ultimately aimed to be an Olympian.

Hamish said triathlon was a great sport.

“Every race you try to go as hard as you can,” he said.
