MOVE over Nicole Kidman, there’s a new BMX bandit in town.

Kinglake girl Emerald Blyth, 11, is shredding her way to top of the national BMX scene.

This year, Emerald finished second in both the Grands Assault National Series and 8 to 14 years girls’ retro at the BMX Australia National Championships.

She finished third in 11 years girls’ at the nationals.

Closer to home, Emerald won this year’s Victorian Track Attack series and is leading the Victorian State Series.

Emerald trains six days a week, including a day with the Victorian state team.

“Because of her dedication, she can now jump better than most of the boys in the 11-year-old age group,” dad Marcus said.

“She has sustained countless cuts, grazes and bruises because of her determination to learn these skills.”

Emerald is a Leader Local Sports Stars nominee.

The program is now a national celebration, and junior category winners will be judged for national awards.

Cash prizes and vouchers from our sponsor Sportsmart are up for grabs.
