Banyule baseballer Ethan Dunn hitting big-time

MOVE over cricket — Ethan Dunn is bringing baseball to Banyule. Ethan, 13, has been baseball-obsessed since he researched the sport online and picked up a ball and glove.
The Ivanhoe boy has played for the Preston Pirates and the North Coburg Rebels ever since making the discovery three years ago.
“I used to play softball and thought it was really fun, but then I tried baseball out and it’s now my favourite sport,” he said.
Ethan, in year 8 at Kew High School, won a premiership with the Preston Pirates last year.
He is now preparing to compete in the national championships with the Diamond Valley representative team in Adelaide next month.
Ethan’s mum, Kathryn Dunn, said he never missed a training session and was obsessed with the sport.
