The AFL Victoria Metro Junior Development Series saw some of the state’s best up and coming prospects go head-to-head earlier this month. Here’s a look at some of the best performers.

The best young football talent was on display at the AFL Victoria Metro Junior Development Series which was played earlier this month.

Here is a look some of the leading performers.

Zane Adams, EFNL/Blackburn

Booted eight goals, highlighted by four goals against the FDJFL, to produce an impressive competition.

Koby Bewick, EDFL/Strathmore

The young star booted multiple goals in every game. Bewick is the son of former Essendon player, Darren.

Sacha Demetriou, YJFL/Glen Iris

One of the leading performers in the under-15 boys division with a mention in the best in every game.

Evan Dennis, FDJFL/Mornington

Played a key role for his side which went undefeated in the under-15 boys division competition, kicking nine goals.

Maya Duane, SMJFL/East Malvern

Led the under-15 girls division one competition with nine goals over three games, being named in the best in every game.

Angus Dunstan, YJFL/Canterbury

A dominant goalkicker highlighted by five against the NFNL, the second highest of any player in the under-14 boys division one.

Madeline French, SMJFL/St Kilda City

Showed plenty of promise throughout the competition after being named in the best in every game.

Milla Giardina, YJFL/Banyule

Booted five goals in the final game of the carnival to cap off a brilliant competition.

Perri Goulding, EFNL/Mitcham

Spent time with the Eastern Ranges this season and went onto be named in the best in every under-15 division one game.

Angus Haslett, RDFNL/Lancefield Juniors

Played some of his best footy of the year throughout the competition with three mentions in the best.

Annie Holloway, FDJFL/Devon Meadows

Performed strongly throughout the competition, with her forward 50 pressure a highlight.

Mason Kent, EFNL/East Ringwood

As his side stormed away with the under-14 boys competition, Kent led the way with nine goals.

Claudia Kogler, SMJFL/Port Melbourne Colts

A dominant player in club land who transitioned the same sort of form to rep level.

Julian Laudato, WFNL/Newport Power

A consistent performer at local level, Laudato continued his strong form for his competition.

Sienna Marcou, YJFL/Beverley Hills

A promising goalkicker who finished with six for her side in the under-14 girls division one competition.

Ali Merhi, EDFL/Pascoe Vale

Started the competition with a bang, six goals against Northern and eventually went on to finish with eight.

Logan Phee, WFNL/St Bernard’s

The young gun enjoyed a standout carnival with 16 goals from three games including a game-high of six against the Riddell District. Named in the best in every game.

Baxter Sruk, EFNL/Lysterfield

The crafty forward booted 10 goals in three games to lead the under-15 boys division one competition. Part of the Eastern Ranges under-16 program, Sruk has 37 goals in eight local games to date.

Zoey Steer, EDFL/Coburg Districts

A strong goalkicker at local level, with 24 for the season, Steer brought the same form for the EDFL as she was named in the best in every game.

Benjamin Tranter, EDFL/Rupertswood

Saved his best form for the long weekend with seven goals in two under-14 division two boys games.

Thomas Tritton, YJFL/Hawthorn Citizens

A leading performer for his side after being named in the best in every game.

Jack Zammit, EFNL/Vermont

Has consistently kicked goals for Vermont and brought the same form to interleague with six across three games, being named in the best every time.
