The WRFL finals system will change for the 2024 season.

When the fixture was released on Wednesday morning, the league confirmed it had adopted a two division competition for next season as well as the finals make-up.

Division One will revert back to a top-five system with nine teams set to be involved in next season after Parkside was promoted with no team relegated.

It will see the finals take place over four weeks with the grand final now scheduled for September 21.

Meanwhile, Division Two will have a six-team finals system due to 13 teams being involved in the competition.

The grand final will be played on September 14.

The returning Glen Orden has been included in the Division Two fixture for next season as it attempts to come out of recess for the 2024 season with its first game set to be played against Albanvale.

Braybrook and Laverton will open the WRFL season with a stand-alone Good Friday fixture on March 29 before Sunshine hosts Albion a week later on April 6 in a huge early season clash between the premiership contenders.

All Division One teams will open their season on April 13 but it won’t be long before the blockbusters roll around.

Hoppers Crossing will host Werribee Districts on Anzac Day in the headline game among a trio of fixtures on the day.

Braybrook will welcome Albion and Sunshine play North Footscray on the same day.

Meanwhile, Point Cook and Yarraville Seddon Eagles will be a stand-alone fixture on the King’s Birthday long weekend on June 8 at Saltwater Reserve.
